Lough Bray boulder shots

Did this the other day just to see how it turned. It revealed a disdvantage of this approach in that its very hard without being very verbose to depict all the problems on the rounded boulders we tend to have. Works ok on long flat walls but not so good here.

  1. Was out at Lough Bray yesterday avoiding the midges. This topo would describe the problems perfectly I would have thought. One question, where exactly does Away From The Numbers start from? The jugs just left of the crimp or the holds left of those again (as for the 6a)?

  2. Yeah I think you are right a topo doesn't the job. I suppose the point I was trying to make was that if you don't have photos of every problem and that can be tiresome for all concerned - reader and writer - then you need a topo map anyway. In fact you probably need a topo map to show how the boulders relate to each other anyway.

AFTN, I starts on the holds just left of the crimp.
